Job Purpose

  • Help to build Fundnel products for the next phase of growth along with our vision
  • Work in a team with other data management analysts to build mine and manage data in a structured way in our proprietary platform, Deal Management System keeping data integrity and data quality in mind and support the data team in data science related jobs

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Managing and maintaining the deals data and processing in the Deal Management System (our proprietary data-driven platform for screening and management of investments)
  • Oversee and lead the development of the Deal Management System; develop and implement databases, data collection systems
  • Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques, identify trends or patterns in complex data sets, and provide ongoing deal analytics reports to support investment decisions
  • Collaborate with unit managers, end users, development staff, and other stakeholders to integrate Deal Management System and Analytics with existing systems.
  • Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Identify and define new process improvement opportunities
  • Contribute to data mining architectures, modelling standards, reporting, and data analysis methodologies
  • Working with data analysts/scientists on ad-hoc tasks to support data science tasks

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven working experience as a data management analyst or data miner
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics into easy to understand concepts
  • Experience developing processes to govern analytics development life cycle
  • Demonstrated track record of success in delivering advanced analytics capabilities
  • Direct experience in implementing data management processes, procedures, data quality management, and decision support
  • Experience leveraging next generation tools and techniques such as Hadoop, Machine Learning, MapReduce, Spark, Python, R to build deployable analytical solutions
  • Working knowledge of data mining, statistical analysis and machine learning concepts, with the ability to apply them to make better decisions, find hidden patterns, and predict outcomes
  • Candidates with an understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc
  • A Diploma or Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics

The Ideal Candidate Should Be

  • Interested in dealing with data, including finding and exploring more efficient ways/programs to collect, store, and analyse data
  • Some understanding of terms in financial statements and financial ratios
  • Proven successful in contributing to a team-oriented environment
  • Proven able to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Having a desire to work in an information systems environment
