Roles & Responsibilities

  • Understand basic design process: research, ideation and iterating on various solutions to meet objectives.
  • Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into various features by partnering with the wider product team:
    • Your efforts would be part of 2 workstreams— Designing and developing features for Fundnel platform, which assists investors in the discovery of investment opportunities and DealTrack, our backend deal management system
  • Collaborate with product owners to understand product vision and align work task with the wider team to solve user-related problems.
  • Present the outstanding design with user’s need in mind.
  • Build prototypes and conduct usability testing to solve user problems.
  • Provide clear user flow and wireframe and build UI components based on design system.
  • Help to determine the interface style, best practices and standards.
  • Maintaining quality of UI output after development
  • Give and solicit feedback from other designers to continually raise our bar
  • Prepare, design and develop content for the purposes of maintaining the design system together with the Lead Product Designer:
    • Guide overall design standards towards developing and maintaining a unified design language
    • Spearhead assigned on-going development tasks by finishing hi-fidelity visual comps on Sketch + Craft + Invision (Desktop, iPad, iPhone) to guide and increase the velocity of product development in the pipeline
    • Enforce and ensure a robust design quality for Fundnel’s products & concepts as they circulate amongst the team for feedback sessions
    • Engage with the wider Fundnel Team to garner feedback for design review & improvement
    • Participate in “sparring sessions” alongside the Product Owners to capture, plan and execute improvements with the Software Engineers
    • Help with the recruitment of design candidates for internships
    • Determine user needs by conducting user research and data analysis to determine areas for improvement
    • Stay informed with the latest developments of user experience and design methodologies, best practices, trends

Skills & Experience Required

  • An interest in finance would be a bonus, but not required.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience as a designer
  • Must be able to document and organise elements of the platform into a coherent manner for technical development, work with minimal supervision; flexible to switch rapidly between different projects and manage them in a timely manner.
  • Fluency in Sketch, Abstract & working with design libraries and plugins (Craft, Invision)
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively develop solutions around the current challenges faced by users on the platform
  • Superior verbal and written presentation skills to communicate clear, concise findings and actionable recommendations to the product team (and wider team)

The Ideal Candidate Should Be

  • Passionate about digital product design who thinks end-to-end, works quickly and independently to create clean, high-fidelity mockups, prototypes and flows
  • Highly empathic, curious and detail-oriented with particular attention paid to observing and implementing user behaviour-based enhancements
  • Highly collaborative, works well with partner stakeholders and non-designers
  • Comfortable helping drive the development of hypotheses, objectives and requirements for product initiatives
  • Generative, fluid with ideas, explores new concepts quickly, contributes fresh ideas to the team’s roadmap
  • Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and vision (not just 'how it should look' but 'what we should build')
  • Consistent in workflow and timing-to-completion of tasks
  • Excellent communication skills (you should be able to clearly articulate your design decisions)
  • Positive in attitude and open to receiving and giving feedback
